About Ore

8 Random Things You Should Know About Me

  1. I get really excited about photography — I tend to geek out a lot when I’m around other photographers, or people who take photos as a hobby. I’ll try to keep it contained for our sessions, although I make no promises.

  2. I’ve enjoyed reading all of my life — when I was in middle school I read every book in the school library and then had to go to the public library to get new material.

  3. I really, really like bacon (like, I mean really). A close second is fried plantain.

  4. Amazon Prime is my Kryptonite — the one-day shipping option is seriously amazing.

  5. I love wedding cake. I think it’s the best. I’ve never been married, but I’ve gone to three cake tastings to “help” friends pick out wedding cake flavors. It was a sacrifice, but I was willing to take one for the team.

  6. I have to make my bed every morning — if I don’t, I feel like I can’t successfully accomplish anything else for the rest of the day.

  7. If you’re familiar with the “Red River Rivalry,” you should know that I went to the University of Oklahoma for undergrad and the University of Texas for grad school. Every time the teams play football, people ask me who I’m rooting for to win. I’ll never tell.

  8. People who come to my house to visit must expect to be fed. With Nigerian parents, I grew up in a household where guests were important, and as a thank you for coming you feed them (sometimes, whether or not they are hungry). Most friends come to dinner at my house knowing to wear stretchy pants.

I am a LGBTQ-friendly photographer who believes that genes don't define your family.

I'm also a contributing photographer to the 100 Black Dads Project100 Black Dads is a photo project by Lucy Baber highlighting the loving, hard working, and nurturing side of black fathers in America.
